Today we begin an occasional feature highlighting staff favorites at Sweet Peas Design, from snacks and kitchen tools to shoes and furnishings. You’ll get a glimpse into our lives and our homes. This week we asked: What’s your favorite piece of furniture? You may notice a trend around chilling out!
Beth Kweton, senior designer: An outdoor chaise. I'm a nature lover-I get inspiration when I'm totally relaxing. The outdoors provides peace, serenity and clarity! Summers are so short here in the Midwest! Have to enjoy them while we can.

Rebecca Snow, junior designer: My bed, or any piece of furniture that promotes napping!

Susan Brunstrum, principal: My pair of black and white rectangular ottos on wheels or coasters. They’re great to pull up for extra seating in the living room or to use in front of my two updated wing chairs. I can rest my feet while reading a magazine and looking at Lake Michigan at the S-curve or to perch my laptop and paperwork.

Jennifer Tarello, architectural associate: A recliner club chair for reading, watching TV or working on my laptop. They’re great for small spaces because they don’t take up a lot of room even when you’re reclining. This one has clean lines, it’s not very puffy and it’s an easy neutral, taupey-grey.

So enough laying down! Here are some more…..
Lauren Benditzky, associate designer: A classic Parson’s desk, preferably in a white lacquer finish.

Laura Bianchi, public relations rep: My cherry wood secretary. There’s a warm, vintage feel to that style that I love, and I like the shelves and glass doors so I can display my Lladros.
