Nini Lustig Steps Down At Lake County Cares

June 11, 2014

A big thank you and best wishes to Nini Lustig, who is stepping down as executive director of Lake County Cares after 15 years to enjoy her new life as an empty nester.

During her tenure Nini has expanded the former Volunteer Center of Lake Forest and ake Bluff to an indispensable county-wide operation that now links more than 10,000 volunteers from 44 municipalities with opportunities to serve at more than 170 service agencies. I have had the pleasure of knowing Nini for 34 years and working with her over the past 20 months since I joined the board. She really cares about helping Lake County’s neediest people. Thankfully, she has promised to remain active in the organization!

In the meantime, I’m happy to say that Megan McCann of Highland Park will be the new executive director. For more than two years Megan (on the right in photo below) has volunteered for Lake County Cares and served as marketing/publicity chair and board secretary.

Good luck to both of you, Nini and Megan!
