Skinny might still be the fashion for runway models, but for decorative trim on pillows, upholstery and window treatments we have been packing on significant width.
Skinny might still be the fashionfor runway models, but for decorative trim on pillows, upholstery and windowtreatments we have been packing on significant width. Decorative trims haveexpanded to as much as six inches wide and are a beautiful statement piece, whether bold, intricate and colorful or as we prefer, subdued, simple andneutral.
Placementis critical if you want to attract attention. For maximum impact try a verticaltrim running down the entire center of a chair, starting at the back cushionand dropping all the way to the floor. Or add a pretty band running downthe leading edge of a drapery panel.

For moresubtle impact we have put wide trim along the bottom edge of a sofa skirt, wrapping it all the way around, or for a quieter statement we just accent thecorners. Wide trims are great on pillows or a coverlet for the bed, too.

The varietyis amazing. These wide trims often are embroidered in two or three colors. Someare geometric while others are soft and curvy. We prefer neutrals becausethey don’t fight with other elements, but you can punch up the color too in theright space.

We alwaysknew that one day wider would be better!
