1. White kitchens have never and will never go out of style.

2. Choose a simple door style for cabinets, nothing too ornate or detailed as they will date your kitchen in years to come
3. If you choose two different finishes for your cabinets, all your counters should be the same material

4. If you choose two different types of slabs for your counters, your cabinet finish needs to be the same
5. If you love to cook, do yourself a favor and include a cook’s seat so you can rest while you slice and dice!
6. Don’t put a cook top in an island or peninsula with seating if you have kids – too easy for them to get burned
7. If you have a large island or peninsula, upscale your light fixtures accordingly

8. Mix metals! Appliances and accents don't need to be stainless steel only. We love copper and gold and matte black.
