The Sweet Peas Design team is in a flurry of activity finalizing arrangements for our family room project and we have a lot of exciting design elements to unveil.

We are weaving our signature Livable Luxe esthetic into the Boutique Hotel theme of this exciting new show house event. Livable Luxe is relaxed and elegant, comfortable and refined. It is layered, collected and rich in custom details. We consider it the “little black dress” of interior design.

Now that I am spending more time downtown I have become a fan of the city’s unique and varied assortment of boutique hotels. Most of these hotels have an urban, eclectic mix of elements.

We were inspired by that to create a design that incorporates a variety of interesting textures and a lush neutral palette with hints of gold and silver metallics and ively pops of color. One sure-to-be buzzed about highlight is the showcase wall opposite the fireplace, covered in three different papers that are semi-adhered, ripped and torn. We wanted to do something unusual, to make a statement, and we think it will be memorable for our show house guests.

If you can’t attend the opening gala the show house will be open to the public daily September 12 to 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8p.m.  Tickets are $25 and available at the door.

The showhouse is sponsored by Gracious House, a nonprofit founded by interior designer M. Grace Sielaff to raise awareness for healthy child development and to help prevent child abuse.
